THE ROCKFORD INN
You will love our secluded Inn for its historic charm, privacy, peace and quiet, tall oak trees, and close proximity to four wineries within 5 minutes. We have very comfortable beds, a fully equipped kitchen, dining room, living room and beautiful deck. Good for couples, a girl’s weekend, families and business travelers. Since this is a guest house now, there is no breakfast served. We were a Bed & Breakfast for 16 years and have over 150 glowing 5-star reviews on Trip Advisor. We have decided to take a step back and enjoy our grandchildren, fur babies and travel more, but would still like to offer the rooms for your enjoyment. So, while there is not a full hot breakfast, the kitchen is available to you, and there are always muffins and coffee and other items for you to enjoy.
This is a 3-bedroom, 3.5 bath house that can sleep up to 7. Our Inn sits on 7 acres and was built in 1840. The uniqueness of The Rockford Inn will interest you in itself…the farmhouse has so much character - houses aren’t made this way anymore. Enjoy your coffee, hot tea or local wine on the deck. The Vineyard Suite is located upstairs in the main house. The Blue Ridge Room and Mountain Laurel Room are in the front wing of the house; all three rooms feature queen beds, comfortable mattresses and lounge chairs, cable TV, free WIFI and a private bath and shower.
This is the ultimate place for rest and relaxation; spend quality time with loved ones, enjoy an adventure on the Yadkin River, shop locally, visit local wineries and breweries, bike/hike, or catch up on sleep. You can rent the entire house; however, all three rooms are available individually, and you still have access to all of the amenities in the main house. You can relax in the common areas of the living room, dining room, kitchen, back deck and grounds. There are always cookies, snacks, water, coffee and tea available.
Things to note:
- Please note we are in the Village of Rockford, but the address is Dobson (12 miles north of Rockford). Maps will bring you right to it.
- Guest house now, not a Bed and Breakfast. No hot breakfast served, however there will be muffins or bagels, coffee, tea, etc. available.
- We provide free Wifi, parking, complimentary coffee, tea, milk, juice half and half, and snacks. Fresh linens, complimentary toiletries, covered back porch with outdoor seating, and a gas fire pit. Feel free to ask specific questions, we will be happy to accommodate special requests if possible!

- Sitting quietly on the back deck, you will likely see deer and turkey. Enjoy the stars and lightning bugs and listen to the hoot owls at night.

We have traveled to the Yadkin Valley wineries in the past and wanted to try the Surry County wineries this trip. . The home is close to many wineries as well as Pilot Mountain. We enjoyed the personal touches that made us feel welcome such as the muffins and brownies waiting for us upon arrival. The house was very clean and as described and our host, Hannah, was very welcoming and helpful.
